摘要

The concept of resilience has gained widespread popularity as a response to a world perceived as fragile. The restoration of psychological stability and the promotion of future coping abilities are often cited as goals of resilience; these are also goals of psychotherapy. Many so-called resilience factors also align closely with the model of a mature personality; however, resilience also depends to a large extent on social and structural conditions. Caution is warranted when uncritically idealizing resilience, as this can downplay vulnerability and place the burden of responsibility solely on the individual. In psychotherapy, fostering resilience involves adopting a resource-oriented approach. Consciously acknowledging and integrating ambivalence can also contribute to coping with adversities. In this context, an interdisciplinary perspective opens up new possibilities for understanding ambivalence and fostering ambivalence competence.
