摘要

We have reviewed the article “The effects of throat packing and Gender on post operative nausea, vomiting , and sore throat in Septorhinoplasty patients- a randomized controlled trial ” by Tankut Uzun et al. [1] with great interest. This article was exceptionally well written, delightful to read, and gave a valuable contribution to the field of aesthetic plastic surgery. We concur with the article’s concluding statement that the routine use of throat packing is not recommended in elective septorhinoplasty as it did not reduce PONV and increase postoperative throat pain. However, we believe that the authors have drawn a few flaws, especially in methodology design, which significantly raise concerns about the validity, generalizability, and reliability of the study.
