Analysis in 3D of Hybrid Injectable Combining Hyaluronic Acid and Calcium Hydroxyapatite: Prospective Study

Aging is a process that has a major impact nowadays, influencing functional and esthetic aspects, and the population’s self-esteem. Thus, researchers and companies are investing significantly in studies to control the effects of this process, especially on the face.
PurposeTo analyze the volume gain and facial lifting effect in three dimensions after HArmonyCaTM filler application.
MethodsEight female patients with a mean age of 47 years received 1.25 ml of HArmonyCaTM bilaterally into the subcutaneous layer, posterior to the imaginary line that connects the main retaining ligaments of the face. The analysis of the results was performed using VectraTM H2 facial scanning software in different periods: pre-procedure, immediately after the procedure, 30 days, and 90 days post-procedure.
ResultsVolumetric analysis showed a greater volume at the immediate, 30-day, and 90-day post-procedure periods than in the pre-procedure in the temple region (P = 0.002) and pre-jowl (P = 0.001). In the zygomatic arch regions (P = 0.004) and mandibular branch (P = 0.016), a greater volume was noticed at the immediate and 90-day post-procedure periods than in the pre-procedure. In vector analysis, yellow, orange, and red arrows were higher and predominant in the middle third region of the face, posterior to the imaginary line that connects the main ligaments of the face. The red arrows, which indicate the greatest tissue displacement, were measured, and a statistically significant difference was shown between the pre-procedure and the other periods studied (P<0.0001).
ConclusionThe hybrid injectable studied caused an immediate lifting effect associated with progressive tissue displacement, reducing skin sagging.
