Background <p>Tenosynovitis is an inflammatory condition affecting tendon sheaths, predominantly in the upper extremities, leading to pain and functional impairments. It commonly affects individuals engaged in repetitive hand movements, such as athletes and healthcare workers. The management of tenosynovitis has evolved significantly, highlighting the need for targeted research and effective management strategies.</p> Methods <p>This study conducted a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of tenosynovitis literature using the Web of Science Core Collection database, covering publications from 2000 to September 2024. A total of 918 publications were retrieved based on the search terms (tenosynovitis OR De Quervain’s OR hand tendinopathy), resulting in 613 relevant articles after applying exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using VOSviewer and Excel to visualize citation networks and publication trends.</p> Results <p>The analysis revealed that the United States led in publication output, while England, the Netherlands, and Italy demonstrated high citation impact. The “Journal of Hand Surgery-American Volume” emerged as the most prolific journal, contributing significantly to the field. Key authors, including Naredo E and Ostergaard M, were identified as major contributors, with a focus on advancements in imaging and management strategies. The leading trending keywords related to tenosynovitis were: tenosynovitis, rheumatoid arthritis, De Quervain’s disease, flexor tenosynovitis, and tuberculosis. In recent years, research trends centered around these topics: infectious tenosynovitis, surgery, acupuncture, corticosteroids, and immunocompromised patients.</p> Conclusions <p>This bibliometric analysis highlights ongoing collaboration in tenosynovitis research, revealing critical trends and areas for future investigation. The collective investment in this field suggests a promising trajectory for improving patient care and management strategies.</p> Level of Evidence <p>Not gradable.</p>
