<p>Initiated nearly 25&#xa0;years ago, the “Electronic Structure Principles and Applications” (ESPA) conference has reached its 13th edition. Held biennially in different locations across Spain, the 2024 edition took place in Tarragona. The conference encompasses a wide range of topics in Computational and Theoretical Chemistry and brings together a significant portion of the Spanish research community in the field, as well as prominent international experts, to present and discuss recent advances. The inaugural edition was held in Madrid in 1998, followed by subsequent meetings in San Sebastián, Sevilla, Valladolid, Santiago de Compostela, Palma de Mallorca, Oviedo, Barcelona, Badajoz, Castellón, Toledo, and Vigo. The 12th edition, originally scheduled for 2020, was postponed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 13th edition was held in Tarragona from June 3 to 7, 2024. This special issue compiles a selection of articles based on presentations delivered at the conference.</p>
