Aplasia cutis congenita: seltene Hauterkrankung als Differenzialdiagnose bei Verdacht auf Kindesmisshandlung
摘要
A newborn was admitted to a clinic after an unnoticed pregnancy and spontaneous birth at home. An abnormal skin lesion was found on the back of the head and as the etiology was unclear and child abuse was suspected, the youth welfare office was informed. After discharge from the clinic, a forensic medical examination was performed. Here a round, healing skin lesion was found on the back of the head. Based on the overall findings (including an early postnatal photograph of the lesion), the newborn was eventually diagnosed with aplasia cutis congenita (ACC) and the initial suspicion of child abuse was dismissed. The ACC is a rare skin disease that, amongst others, is characterized by the absence of skin. The case once again demonstrates the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation between the youth welfare office, clinics and forensic medicine.
