摘要

This research paper discusses the connexion between lean manufacturing and sustainability-based practises in an electronics manufacturing context, in such a manner that enhances productivity, quality and environmental performance. The paper evaluates proper application of key tools of lean in the production line and evaluates pattern of defects to determine the points of nonconformities and their relationship with performance indicators of operations. The generation of electronic waste at the process level is measured because of production scrap records and at the workstation level in terms of observations and, again, falls into specific categories of discarded electronic material produced during manufacturing. The options of sustainable production planning are then analysed using their ability to minimise waste and enhance the use of resources. A mathematical algorithm is designed to combine such findings in one measure of correspondence between lean activities and sustainability activities so that improved planning situations can be predicted. The results show that the combined lean and sustainability practises are linked to the decline in the level of defects and the decrease of electronic waste production and the enhancement of the overall performance of operations. The suggested algorithm offers a viable decision-support model to continuously improve and manufacture in an environmentally responsible way in the electronics sector.
