Achievement of automated fishing line alignment packaging with PID-based tension control
摘要
With the growing popularity of fishing recreational activity around the world, the quality of fishing lines package has become an important issue in industry. However, traditional fishing line packaging process still rely on manual operation, resulting in inconsistent product quality along with labor-intensive and time-consuming consequence. In response to the necessity for automated functionality, this study aims to design a compact automated fishing line winding machine to achieve alignment control during the winding process. The proposed machine integrates automatic mechanism structure and electronic control system, including Programming Logic Controller (PLC), stepper servo motors, optical sensor and pneumatic devices, etc. A Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control algorithm is then applied to maintain the winding line tension at 150 g range by appropriately adjusting the motor speed. The experimental results demonstrate the proposed machine system reaches 100% success rate of uniform aligned line in the 0.21 mm monofilament fishing line.
