Characteristics of stainless steel deposited by the WAAM using the developed flux-cored wire
摘要
A flux-cored wire has been developed, which makes it possible to deposit metal containing nitrogen in its chemical composition, increase chromium and manganese content, and reduce nickel and carbon content. Multilayer depositing was performed by wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM). The properties of the WAAM product made from developed flux-cored wire were comprehensively investigated. The structure of the deposited layers consists of austenite and delta ferrite. Their mechanical and corrosion properties are compared with the widely used austenitic stainless steel AISI 321. It is shown that the strength of the deposited metal from the developed flux-cored wire significantly exceeds the strength of AISI 321 steel, while the ductility is lower. The developed material is not inferior in pitting corrosion tests to AISI 321 steel. Additionally, the developed material demonstrates deformation stability during tensile testing to failure and does not undergo austenitic–martensitic transformation. This will preserve the corrosion resistance of the material under deformation conditions.
