Arthroskopische Arthrodese des oberen Sprunggelenks
摘要
When performed by a skilled surgeon, arthroscopic ankle arthrodesis reliably results in pain reduction and fusion of the upper ankle joint in osteoarthritis. In many cases it is superior to open arthrodesis due to faster rehabilitation with a tendency towards better clinical and comparable radiological outcomes; however, the open procedure remains the gold standard when bone replacement, greater deformity correction and more rigid plate fixation are necessary. The functional limitation resulting from arthrodesis is partially compensated for by adjacent joints. This additional load is considered to be the cause of the increased osteoarthritis of the upper ankle joint and midfoot observed in the long term and can lead to persistent symptoms.
