Diabetic foot syndrome encompasses the structural and functional damage to the foot that occurs as a&#xa0;result of this underlying condition and can progress to Charcot foot in advanced stages. This complex clinical condition requires specialized, experienced treatment, with the preservation of the limb and its function as the primary therapeutic goal. Conventional open surgical procedures have so far been only moderately successful due to high complication rates. In contrast, minimally invasive surgery (MIS) offers significant advantages, particularly for patients with increased peri- and postoperative risk. Through precise correction of deformities using minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and the appropriate selection of internal and/or external osteosynthesis techniques based on the specific indication, favorable postoperative outcomes can be achieved and the amputation rate reduced.</p>
