Onkologische Therapie und Kinderwunsch: Fertilitätserhalt beim Mammakarzinom
摘要
Breast cancer also affects young women of reproductive age. Chemotherapy and other cancer treatments pose a significant risk to fertility, and patients must thus be informed and counseled regarding methods of fertility preservation at an early stage. Fertility preservation strategies offering the change of pregnancy at a later date include cryopreservation of unfertilized oocytes, embryos, or ovarian tissue as well as ovarian suppression and hormonal stimulation. Importantly, fertility preservation does not worsen the prognosis of breast cancer. Legal frameworks in Germany now guarantee counseling and partial funding for fertility preservation in reproductive-aged women undergoing gonadotoxic treatments.
