摘要

For patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), the possibility of fulfilling their desire to have children is often one of the most pressing questions at the time of diagnosis. Since the chances of pregnancy can be increased by basic weight control measures, women with PCOS should be informed about the various preconception measures available. In cases of obesity II° or III° that couldn’t be reduced by conservative measures, bariatric surgery is an option for cycle regulation and risk reduction. In cases where there is no apparent male factor, follicle maturation can be induced in women with PCOS using letrozole, clomiphene, and/or metformin, resulting in good pregnancy rates. When not successful, or in case of additional infertility factors, medically assisted reproduction is another option. Women with PCOS should also be monitored more closely during pregnancy and undergo early screening for gestational diabetes and preeclampsia.
