<p>The climate crisis—reflected, among other things, in a&#xa0;global temperature rise and increased air pollution—causes an exacerbation of health risks, which particularly affects vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and newborns. This vulnerability is due to the physiological adaptations to pregnancy and the limited thermoregulatory capacity of newborns and infants. This vulnerability is exacerbated by social injustice and a&#xa0;lack of public health and political measures. The growing body of international research on these morbidity risks contrasts with the sparse data available in Germany. This article provides an overview of the state of research in Germany and shows how the consequences of the climate crisis can be addressed through climate-sensitive health advice and climate adaptation strategies.</p>
