摘要

Use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the form of large language models (LLM) by patients in gynecology and obstetrics has the potential to profoundly change care. AI-supported language models such as ChatGPT can make information on sensitive health topics such as menstruation, contraception, pregnancy, and childbirth accessible around the clock and, thus, improve the level of information and self-determination of patients. Constant availability and comprehensible dissemination of medical information enables patients to better prepare for medical consultations and ask their own questions without shame. This fosters equal and collaborative dialogue between patients and healthcare professionals. At the same time, however, there are limitations and challenges when using ChatGPT in medicine. The model can only provide general information and is not able to fully capture the complexity of individual health conditions or personalized medical decisions. Data protection concerns and the risk of misunderstandings are also key hurdles that must be taken into account when using it. ChatGPT is therefore not a substitute for medical advice, but should only be used as a supplementary resource. Overall, the use of ChatGPT offers many opportunities for improving communication in gynecology and obstetrics. Future developments and research could help to further adapt the model to the specific needs of patients and establish it as a supportive resource in the healthcare sector.
