Therapeutische und präventive Aspekte der postpartalen und postmenopausalen Pessartherapie
摘要
Beside physiotherapy, pessary therapy is the gold standard in the conservative treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. In the following article, the early therapeutic and preventive use of pessary therapy in postpartum and postmenopausal women is discussed. Postpartum pessary therapy is used to support convalescence after acute pelvic floor trauma by relieving pressure and repositioning the pelvic organs to their original position. Current studies have shown the therapeutic and preventive importance of postpartum pessary therapy. In postmenopause, the pelvic floor has often suffered chronic trauma due to estrogen and age-related changes, while pressure on the tissue structures remains the same. Preventive and early therapeutic pessary therapy in postmenopausal women might help to reduce the occurrence of functional disorders, the need for surgery, and improve quality of life.
