The Berlin-based “Folia Urologica” was at least as influential and important and probably the better known journal. It relied on international exchange, disputes, and interdisciplinary work. With the outbreak of World War I in 1914, the international discourse ended.</p>

The official “Zeitschrift für Urologie” was not the only journal in the field of Urology in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. The Berlin-based “Folia Urologica” was at least as influential and important and probably the better known journal. It relied on international exchange, disputes, and interdisciplinary work.
