Werner Catels Tuberkulose-Heilversuche
摘要
In February 1947 Werner Catel, who had previously played a central role in the Nazi “child euthanasia” program, was appointed director of the Mammolshöhe State Children’s Sanatorium. At the end of the 1940s, tuberculosis treatment trials were conducted at Mammolshöhe under Catel’s direction. Although these trials resulted in deaths due to the toxic effect of the substances tested, they were nevertheless continued. An investigation that was subsequently launched could not detect any misconduct by the actions of the trial director, even though he had clearly violated professional ethical principles.
