For children and adolescents this may also harbor dangers that parents should be aware of. The temperature itself, whether too high or too low, can pose a&#xa0;considerable risk of medical complications for children due to different physiological conditions. In addition, there may be environmental factors, such as reduced oxygen pressure at high altitude and the resulting occurrence of mountain sickness or increased ambient pressure when scuba diving. Medical problems can very quickly have dramatic consequences and even lead to death in children.</p><p>Parents should inform themselves very carefully about possible risks before travelling to special surroundings and consult their pediatrician in advance.</p>
