<p>Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is the most common sleep-related breathing disorder and frequently prompts referral to ENT practices. Following a&#xa0;structured medical history and clinical examination, ambulatory diagnosis is typically performed using cardiorespiratory polygraphy which records key parameters such as the apnea–hypopnea index (AHI), oxygen desaturation index (ODI), and oxygen saturation. Modern devices allow for patient-friendly use and computer-assisted data analysis but still require clinical expertise for accurate review and interpretation of the data. New diagnostic tools such as peripheral arterial tonometry (PAT) and artificial intelligence (AI)-based wearables may play an increasingly important role in the future of OSA diagnostics.</p>
