<p>Fecal incontinence can be very burdensome for the affected patients and substantially impair the quality of life. This article presents a new procedure, the ventral pelvio-anal reconstruction (VPAR). In the preliminary investigations VPAR could show very promising results. This technique could become important in the future in the treatment of severe treatment refractory fecal incontinence; however, further studies with longer follow-up observational times are necessary to validate the results.</p>

摘要
