Treatment of atopic dermatitis in infants
摘要
Atopic Dermatitis (AD) in infants is an increasing global concern, with conventional treatments focusing on alleviating acute symptoms through topical steroids and mineral oil-based emollients while overlooking underlying imbalances. In contrast, Chinese Medicine takes a holistic approach, addressing both the symptoms and root causes. Herbal bath therapy, which takes advantage of the high permeability of infant skin, plays a crucial role in treatment. This method follows a three-phase process—draining, harmonising, and tonifying—to restore skin integrity and reduce the risk of recurrence.
