<p>This paper presents an efficient Water Strider Algorithm for reducing the order of complex large-scale systems. By leveraging the algorithm, an optimal reduced-order model is derived based on the minimization of integral square error between the original and reduced systems. The effectiveness of the proposed approach was extensively validated using various single-input single-output and multi-input multi-output systems. The simulation results demonstrate the robustness and efficacy of the algorithm in model-order reduction. Comparative analyses of order reduction using traditional and other heuristic algorithms from the literature were performed to underscore the superiority of this algorithm.</p>
