Reconfigurable Formant and Inverse Formant Filter Realizations Using Current Feedback Operational Amplifiers

Possible implementations of resonators and anti-resonators topologies constructed from Current Feedback Operational Amplifiers as active elements, are exploited and developed in this work. Two kinds of resonators are considered: one of them is based on the utilization of low-pass filter transfer functions, while the other one is based on the utilization of peaking filters. The considered anti-resonators are realized through the employment of the inverse counterparts of the aforementioned transfer functions. Following the comparison results, where the circuit complexity is considered as the most important factor, the performance of the most beneficial topology is evaluated, in both frequency and time-domains, using the OrCAD PSpice suite and the model of the AD844 discrete component and also, through experimental results using this component.
