Foregrounding Geometric Thinking
摘要
This editorial introduces Volume 28, Issue 1 of the Nexus Network Journal: Architecture and Mathematics. The contributions in this issue emphasise geometry as an active method rather than just a descriptive tool. They promote and examine the results of applying technical approaches—laser scanning, CAD/BIM modelling, photogrammetry, and point-cloud analysis—to buildings spanning the 1st century to the late 20th century, across China, Italy, Spain, Serbia, and Iran. The research scope covers geometric and digital methods for exploring how architecture is conceived, developed, analysed, visualised, generated and inhabited.
